Recommendations: Your Body Stores Your Emotions

parenting self-awareness

Your mind plays a big role in your disease and pain.  A bigger role than you realize. I have been exploring this in depth with my own health issues, and I have come to the conclusion that it is entirely true.  I admit, I was skeptical that my physical pains could have anything to do with my mind. These techniques and books have had a huge impact on my life:

TRE - Trauma Release Exercises

Doing a short series of physical exercises to fatigue the muscles of the legs and pelvis, then lying on your back on the floor with your knees bent and letting your body tremor.  You are in complete control and can stop whenever you want.  I was shocked during my first session of TRE that my body tremored and it felt so good.  I heard the words "Thank you.  This is just want I need."  I felt so happy.  In my subsequent sessions, strange memories, and images have appeared, and my body has done some interesting motions.  What's happening from my understanding is that when the events happened, I froze up and they were stored in my body in specific places.  A lot of my pain is in my pelvis, abdomen, intestines, and lower back.   If you have autoimmune issues, your body is crying out for your conscious mind to listen.  Check out more about TRE. David Bercelli, the creator of TRE has a new book out that I'm going to check out.  "Shake it Off Naturally".  There's even an app which I don't have yet.  If you get it, let me know what you think!

FasterEFT

Tapping on 4 points on your face and collarbone while focusing on a physical pain or memory and saying "let it go".  After having what I later realized what a panic attack a little over a year ago, I found a FasterEFT practitioner and had a 2 hour session over Skype.  I have never had a panic attach since.  FasterEFT is a combination of Neuro Linguistic Programming, traditional Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping) and hypnosis. I loved it so much, I studied it and became a level 2 practitioner over the next year. Check it out at www.fasterEFT.com.

Inna Segal's
The Secret Language of Your Body

Look up what ailment you are having, and see how what emotions are at the root of it, and how you can heal it.  Fascinating!  Leave your questions in the comments below, and I'll look it up for you!

Karyl McBride's
Will I Ever Be Enough

I just finished the audio of this book and had to get the physical book, too. I rarely purchase physical books, but it's that good.  Karyl explores adult daughters of narcissistic mothers and how we can heal and forgive and move forward to parent ourselves and our children in a healthy way.  She explains how you can let go of blaming your mother and learn to be your own nurturing, ideal mother.   It includes checklists for figuring out if you had a narcissistic mother, coming up with who you are now that you've realized what's going on, and moving into the future with your own children.  It's a must read!

Have you read these books or tried these techniques?

I'd love to hear what you thought, and please share this if you have friends who it would help!
